Recovery Version of the Bible
Matthew 23:8 — Matthew 23:12
8 But you, do not be called Rabbi, for One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers.
9 And do not call anyone on earth your father, for One is your Father, He who is in the heavens.
10 Neither be called instructors, because One is your Instructor, the Christ.
11 And the greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 And he who will exalt himself shall be humbled, and he who will humble himself shall be exalted.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
8 We should not look to be called teacher because we are all students of the Teacher and those who teach only impart what they learn from Him. Jesus is the great teacher and the Spirit will reveal knowledge to us as we learn while reading the scriptures and living the Christian life. Rabi means master or lord which means we should not call anyone lord because we are only to serve one true Lord.
9 Catholics refer to the pope or priests as holy father this is wrong. Jesus is not saying we should not called the man who gave us birth father, he is refer to the spiritually which is saying we should not call anyone our spiritually father because God is the Father. We are not to call anyone father because no one deserves to be on the same level as God.
10 God is the great teacher and we are all to be His students.
11 We should not look to be great but look to the Great One. Christ came not as a Lord but as a servant and became received by those of the faith as the Lord He is.
12 If we elevate ourselves we will have to be humbled to come to Christ. We can not both be prideful and a servant of the Lord because pride will not allow us to fully see our need for the Lord.
