1 Chronicles 29:3-5 King James Version (KJV)
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house.
4 Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:
5 The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?
1 Chronicles 29:3-5 Expanded Bible (EXB)
3 I have already given this for the ·Temple [L house], but because of my ·devotion to [commitment to; delight in] the ·Temple [L house] of my God, I am also giving my own treasures of gold and silver. 4 I am giving ·about two hundred twenty thousand pounds [L three thousand talents] of gold from Ophir and ·about five hundred twenty thousand pounds [L seven thousand talents] of ·pure [refined] silver. They will be used to ·cover [overlay] the walls of the buildings 5 and for all the gold and silver work to be done by the craftsmen. Now, who is ·ready [willing] to ·give himself [consecrate/devote yourself] to the service of the Lord today [C by also making an offering]?”

3 What we have dedicated to God we should give to Him, Solomon is doing that here. He is giving the gold and silver to God now that the temple is built to hold it.
4 It can seem like Solomon is bragging about what he gave but that isnt happening, it is simply the record of what he gave.
5 We are meant to be a living sacrifice to the Lord. We are to be dedicated to Him.
