Mark 2:18-19 King James Version (KJV) 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
Mark 2:18-19 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast; and they came and said unto Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?”
19 And Jesus said unto them, “Can the attendants of the bridechamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
It was easy for them to point fingers after Jesus addresses their own pride because they could focus again on others instead of God working on them. Fating is good but you can fast and not have Jesus, it is more important to have relationship with Him.
