1 Chronicles 23:25-27 King James Version (KJV)
25 For David said, The LORD God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, that they may dwell in Jerusalem for ever:
26 And also unto the Levites; they shall no more carry the tabernacle, nor any vessels of it for the service thereof.
27 For by the last words of David the Levites were numbered from twenty years old and above:

He •has come to live [dwells] in Jerusalem forever. 26 So the Levites don’t need to carry the •Holy Tent [Tabernacle] or any of the •things [articles; objects] used in its services anymore.” 27 David’s •last [final] instructions were to count the Levites who were twenty years old and older.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
25 God is our rest, thru Christ we have rest even in troubles we can have such peace in Him. He is the calm in the storm.
26 So the ark was going to be placed in one place and stay there, at this point the Levites carried the ark into battle but this no longer would be, they could trust God to lead the battle without carrying the ark.
27 Now David counts and lists the men who served God. We all as Christians are called to serve God, this is similar to churches taking attendance today.
