Matthew 27:51-53 King James Version (KJV)
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
Matthew 27:51-53 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
51 And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom, and the earth quaked and the rocks rent.
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who slept arose,
53 and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the Holy City and appeared unto many.

51 This first meant God ripped it, very few people would have been strong enough to move this curtain, let alone rip it but it being ripped from top to bottom shows that it started up, it was done by God who is in heaven. It means that we don’t have to separate from God anymore; it means Jesus is now the accepted lamb and the priest we go to. It means full fellowship with God thru Jesus. The earthquake wasn’t the cause of the rip but the earthquake was an effect of God coming down to tear the veil.
52 Death was no more those who have faith now have eternal life, we as Christians pass from this life to a life with Him in glory.
53 This would have been an amazing site, seeing people who were from the old talking in faith about what just happened. This would have been a scary site for those who didn’t have faith but for those who did it should have stirred excitement because things would no longer be the same, they were now to be much better.
