Matthew 27:48-50 King James Version (KJV)
48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Matthew 27:48-50 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

48 Drinking vinegar would have bitter, wouldn’t have been the preferred drink of anyone who is thirsty, Jesus was losing so much blood, that one of the causes of death could have been soon, death of thirst and they give Him vinegar, He did this for us, He loves us.
49 They believed more in Elijah’s power, who had been called up to heaven years ago, then the believed in God’s power, Elijah acted with not His own power but thru the power of God, Jesus is God, Elijah was a prophet of God, Elijah was Jesus’ servant. Jesus didn’t come to be saved but to save us and this death, would allow that.
50 Jesus died, this death, changed the entire world, the death lifted the curse of the garden this death allows for the eternal fellowship with the Lord, this death shook the world and paid the debt of sin.
