The People of Gershon
7 From the people of Gershon, there were Ladan and Shimei.
8 Ladan had three sons. His first son was Jehiel, and his other sons were Zetham and Joel.
9 Shimei’s sons were Shelomoth, Haziel, and Haran. These three sons were leaders of Ladan’s •families [clans]. 10 Shimei had four sons: Jahath, Ziza, Jeush, and Beriah. 11 Jahath was the •first son [eldest; chief; family leader], and Ziza was the second son. But Jeush and Beriah did not have many children, so they were counted as if they were one family, with one •assignment [responsibility].

7 Gershon were Levites. Ladan was also called Libni.
8 Three sons that would do the work ordained to their father for the service of the Lord. While we are not called to be servants because our family are there is nothing better to be an influence for them to come to faith.
9 Shimel also had three sons and they were divided into clans from there. Just as their were different clans of the same family God has different church fellowship but there is only one church.
10-11 Not all of us are called to lead but we are all called to serve we need to do and be where God calls us.
