Matthew 27:35-37 King James Version (KJV)
35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36 And sitting down they watched him there;
37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

35 So they valued his clothes more then Him as a person. Those doing this further mocked Him. Casting lots was a way to determine what God wanted but God was standing before them on the cross.
36 They watched Him as He died for all our sins. He died also for those that watched on as much as He did for us.
37 Jesus was being crucified for claiming to be king, although the Jews didn’t like that they wanted Him dead for blasphemy but Rome would not kill for that so they had to manipulate to get Him killed. Jesus is both King and God and He died because of who we are, sinners.
