1 Chronicles 22:9-12 King James Version (KJV)
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
12 Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
1 Chronicles 22:9-12 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest. And I will give him rest from all his enemies round about; for his name shall be Solomon [that is, Peaceable], and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
10 He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.’
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as He hath said of thee.
12 Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
9 Solomon reigned and never went to war because of this although due to his choosing sin he didn’t have spiritually peace. God honored His covenant with David even though at times Solomon lived as bad as the worse of kings.
10 Solomon would build the temple but sadly would build other temples but again God would keep His promise and Jesus holds the throne forever.
11 At this point David is blessing his son after he told him God’s promises.
12 Solomon would be very wise but would turn from God’s commands for a time. We can be gifted with great blessings but sometimes we fall because we take our eyes off Jesus, we should never let the blessing or His plan for us to keep us from looking to Him.
