Nehemiah 3:16-18 King James Version (KJV)
16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
17 After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
18 After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
Nehemiah 3:16-18Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
16 After him hath Nehemiah son of Azbuk, head of the half of the district of Beth-Zur, strengthened, unto over-against the graves of David, and unto the pool that is made, and unto the house of the mighty ones.
17 After him have the Levites strengthened, [and] Rehum son of Bani: by his hand hath Hashabiah, head of the half of the district of Keilah, strengthened, for his district.
18 After him have their brethren strengthened, [and] Bavvai son of Henadad, head of the half of the district of Keilah.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
16 So Nehemiah himself helps rebuild this shows that he was just leading the building but also lending a hand in the building it is much easier to work for a boss who is hands on.
17 The Levites were the people set apart for the service of the Lord but they knew without the wall they may not be able to serve so they do what they needed to help and we should have the same attitude in serving the Lord. So another ruler helps rebuild even he may have rebuilt his own area he did his part.
18 So the men under this other ruler rebuild maybe this ruler was unable to help himself but he sends help to get it done.
